TOWN HALL STOPS GERMAN FROM THROWING 75,000 EUROS OUT WINDOWA big-hearted German truck driver has been thwarted in his bid to throw 75,000 euros out the window of his local town hall when the authorities turned it down.
The man had won a radio station's contest with the best answer to the question "What would you do for 100,000 euros?" (130,000 dollars).
He had responded that he would keep a quarter of the sum and throw the rest to passersby.
But when the town hall in Mainz, southwestern Germany was approached about the stunt, administrators said that because the building was air-conditioned, it was not possible to open the windows.
Now the radio station, RPR1, said Wednesday it is looking for another town hall with old-fashioned ventilation.
